Exclusive Interview with Kimberly Kelly
Why country music ?
~ I am country. Could you imagine me singing a rap song? I live it, so I sing it.
Is there a difference for you between the Grand Ole' Opry and any other stage and if so, can you describe it ?
~ Well, I have been made fun of for comparing the Fair & Rodeo where I'm from to the nerves I would also feel playing the Grammy's, so I'm going to say no.
If everything would be possible (waking the dead included) , which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ Gary Stewart and Tammy Wynette. I bet they're singing together in heaven.
What song you ever recorded means the most to you and why?
~ Last Goodbye. I got to write it with Billy Joe Shaver.
Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ Eric Church
Being a skilled musician yourself you must have an idea about the ultimate band.Who would be playing in your dream band when you could choose anyone you ever wanted.
~ Tyson and Eli Carver, the boyfriend and his brother, and the guys I have now. I hope we all make it together.
If you could turn back time to make only one change, what would you change?
~ I would played an instrument when I was younger, or kept practicing the fiddle 9 years ago when I started taking lessons.
What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and...you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ I never get asked about my education. I just finished a masters degree. For a while I balanced school, music, and work.
What song or recording artists, as a teenager, do you hate to admit (now) that you actually liked?
~ Nobody. I own it. I was obsessed with Britney Spears.
Johnny or June ?
~ June. She had sass. I like to think I'm witty at times. :)
What are your top favorite 3 country songs of all time
~ "friends in low places" um...I can't name only 3.
What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ The day I met Billy Joe Shaver, but I've made more since then, and even many before!!
