Exclusive Interview with Towne

Towne Why country music ?
~ Good question...definitely one that I don't think either of us have ever asked ourselves before...I guess the answer would have to be that, even though we grew up addicted to our parent's rock n roll record collections, we're both from small-town-rural America and our life experiences/families/etc are very "country" at heart. "Country" isn't something that we chose, it chose us.

If everything would be possible (waking the dead included) , which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline.

What song you ever recorded means the most to you and why?
~ This answer changes from day-to-day and song-to-song but right now we'd have to say "The One I Love". It's an incredible feeling to; write a song, put it out into the world, and have so many different people be touched by it for so many different reasons. It's the first time we've written a song that has touched people like that.

Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ Again, this answer changes day-to-day but we really love just about everything Ryan Tedder writes. So, today, our answer is Ryan Tedder.

What is the one thing that readers/fans would be surprised to know about you?
~ We met in Wyoming (1,300 miles from Nashville) but lived across the street from each other in Nashville.

What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and...you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ Q: Beatles or Stones? A: Fleetwood Mac

Describe the ultimate recording studio (not the technique but the facilities)
~ That's easy! Our favorite studio set-up is in a friend's house playing songs with our friends while another friend pushes "record".

Johnny or June ?
~ Trick question: There is no Johnny with no June.

Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any "rituals" to calm you nerves.
~ Oh yeah! We still get butterflies everytime we step onstage. Some people say they do a shot to calm their nerves or whatever but, for us, we get comfortable as soon as we start singing together.

What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ Most memorable day would have to be when we were on the backs of horses in the mountains in Wyoming and realized we both lived behind the liquor store on 8th avenue.
