Why native music ?
~ Since my childhood days I felt a close relationship to mother nature and freedom.
I grew up in a surrounding, that accepted my personality. For me it was a natural development towards the Indian way of life. I feel a strong respect for mother earth and her gifts and I feel a strong respect for the dignity of every human being. There is a strong link to the native philosophy of life. However, some people may claim that I am part of the western society and culture and of course. This is why Big City Indians is something like a melting pot of two worlds.
I don´t pretend to be a Native American, but in my heart I´m an Indian.
2010 Big City Indians picking up a Nammy for our latest album: Tribal Vision at the Native American Music Awards handed out in Niagara Falls, NY. The Native American Music Award is a celebration of music honoring the outstanding achievements of today’s leading Native American artists north and south of the US and Canadian borders. This is a great honor!
If everything would be possible (waking the dead included) , which two people should sing the ultimate duet?

What song you ever recorded means the most to you and why?
~ A song we recorded called „Sin Of Ignorance (32 Reasons)“ dedicate to Leonard Peltier from our Native American Music Award winning Album: Tribal Vision.
Leonard Peltier is a political prisoner, who has spent 35 years in captivity, more than half his life. For these past 35 years Leonard has staunchly proclaimed his innocence and has altruistically worked towards bringing unification of all Native Americans, other Indigenous Populations, and All other People world-wide. This is a daunting task to do behind prison bars! The story of Leonard’s long struggle is both famous and infamous. The violations of his civil, human, constitutional and treaty rights by the United States Government and those acting on behalf of the Government are both treacherous and legendary.

I think that it is very interesting for Europeans to explore a world which is for ever changing, like the musical sounds that have been created in the past together with the myths and legends

What is your most important message to the world?
~ I would be glad, if the listeners shared some of our thoughts. Especially in this strange and chaotic times we should remember some of the old values and customs of the ancient culture. Remember, this a high-tech civilization where machines and computers sometimes are more important than human beings. We live in a world, where profit is the new god. The philosophy of Big City Indians wants to make people think about the real values of life. I speak of individuality, mother nature, freedom and an an awareness of who we are. I´m not against technical progress and the evolution of our society. But we have to keep a balance.
We would be happy if we could raise peoples awareness of what is going on in the world. Big City Indians means music and good time, and on the other hand it is considered something like a navigator to a different point of view.
