Why country music ?
~ Both Jessica and I grew up in areas where country music was popular. Our true love for the style didn’t come until adulthood and it was something that reminded us of home.
If everything would be possible (waking the dead included), which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ Gosh, that is a tough question…maybe Elvis & Linda Ronstadt?
What song (that you’ve recorded) means the most to you and why?
~ Christian: We have a song I wrote called Everything That I Need. I wrote it in less than 30 minutes and everything about that song encompasses my feelings toward being in love, more specifically being in love with Jessica! haha
Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ I don’t know if there’s a particular writer that we would want for them to write a song for us? I know we both would like to write with someone like Chris Stapleton.
What is the one thing that readers/fans would be surprised to know about you?
~ That Jessica needs to drink a cup of coffee before she goes to bed.
Give us one country song you never want to hear on radio anymore and tell us why.
~ Country Girl Shake it For Me by Luke Bryan. Do we need to explain why?
What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and…you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ I wish we were asked more often…why we love staying up so late each night? We are extreme night owls, some might call us vampires. haha. Jessica and I both like to stay up until (almost) sunrise and sleep until noon. Now that is a good day!
Describe the ultimate recording studio (not the technique but the facilities)
~ We recorded our CD Forever in Franklin Tennessee at Michael McDonald’s (Yes, THE Michael McDonald) private studio and that was the ultimate! It was old, large, with lots of wood. They don’t make studios like that anymore. Everything about that place was great and definitely kept our creative juices flowing.
Johnny or June ?
~ Well I’d say Johnny and Jessica would say June. And we admire them almost as a pair. We too are a couple so they’re folks we can get inspiration from.
Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any “rituals” to calm you nerves.
~ No. We’ve done enough performances and touring that nerves never really come into play. Insecurities? Now that’s a whole other question.
What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ We’ve opened for several top country music artists from Charlie Daniels, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, George Jones and Dierks Bentley, and although those were some memorable events nothing compares to not only meeting Garth Brooks but also spending time with him discussing songs and every aspect of the music business.
