If everything would be possible (waking the dead included), which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ Well I’d say Willie Nelson for sure and… I don’t know maybe Ella Fitzgerald? That’d be pretty amazing.

How did you start making music together?
~ We started as lovesick duo in the 2015 we’ve been several time in the US traveling and trying to lear the music, the culture and the language. We’ve started to play in the street as buskers then we played clubs and festivals. We started playing standards of American music from Hank Williams to Chuck Berry then we wrote a lot of songs and we’ve recorded 4 albums.

You know how to use of social media. Did the corona crisis give your career some boost because of the fact that artists have to go online to reach there audience these days?
~ Yes the corona crisis gave us a lot of good benefits such time in the first place. We saw this as an opportunity from the beginning and we worked very hard being present online as much as possible, playing our original music and covers as well. Our popularity increased a lot during this last year because we were very active.

What is the one thing that readers/fans would be surprised to know about you?
~ That we are not Americans but Italians. Most of them don’t recognize the Italian accents when we sing.

francesca

Give us one country song you never want to hear on radio anymore and tell us why.
~ country road take me home i guess, cause here in Italy everyone plays this song when they play country music, it’s a great song don’t get me wrong, it’s just everywhere.

francesca

What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and…you wish they would?
~ The question would be ”how can you do as much as you do as a duo, like 150 shows per year, plus shows on line , videoclip, photos, answering messages, shop online and live a normal life without any other people that work with you?”

And I will answer: We believed we could have infused this passion in our work and that’s what we did. Today you can learn basically anything online if you want so step by step, we learned how to record ourself at a recording studio level, then some marketing rules and video stuff, these are just the tools you need to express yourself and be heard out there.

We believe in ourself and we work hard everyday.

Is it hard to be Italian when you play this kind of music or does it also opens doors abroad ?
~ I understand it can be hard but we don’t feel like it is, what helps a lot, and this is the advice I would give to anyone that would play and English based music, is learn the language as good as you can, that helps a lot in every situation, you can understand better the music, even arrangement choices. About doors, I don’t know really.

francesca

Johnny or June ?
~ Johnny, i love his voice, and love the character.

Paolo Roberto Pianezza

How do you handle your disagreements?
~ Fortunately we really enjoy playing this kind of music and if we go on stage after an argument it takes just few songs to forget what happened.

francesca

Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any “rituals” to calm you nerves.
~ Usually we are not nervous. Sometimes it happened to me and I Chant nam myoho renge kyo, a Buddhist mantra as herbie Hancock does.

Paolo Roberto Pianezza

What was the most memorable day in your musical career and can you tell us why?
~ A lot of things are happening now and we’re very happy about that, for example we played our songs in a national tv show and that was pretty amazing but every year there are a couple of concerts that really we’ll remember for a long time.
