Why country music ?
~ I relate to most of country music! The stories written in most country songs I find relatable. It was introduced to me at the age of 12 when my taste in music was beginning to blossom. Also its a very versatile genre. Many ways to interperate The Country Sound. “Country Pop” “Country Rock” “Country Southern-Rock” etc.

If everything would be possible (waking the dead included), which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ Johnny Cash and Garth Brooks.

What song (that you’ve recorded) means the most to you and why?
~ “She’s All Woman” which is a track currently on The Ben Cesare Band’s newest EP “CESARE’S PALACE” because I wrote it loosely based off my recently married wife! I love her and we’ve been together for 5 years (including a 2 year engagement). We got married this October and I can’t imagine spending my life with anyone but her. She makes my life interesting and fun! One day she treats me like a prince, and the next day she’d want to rip my head off, which, in my opinion, is a healthy marriage. If we were too perfect, that’d be creepy. I love her in her entirety. ALSO its a fun rock/blues sounding country song.

Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ CHRIS STAPLETON

How would you like to spend a day if you were not allowed to make music or to talk about music?
~ Spend time with my animals. My wife has a one-year-old Shih Tzu we named Tula and we adopted two brother cats, Pompeii and Napoli. I named them that because I and my wife are Italian American. Other than my music, animals have brought me the greatest joy in life. While I was on a radio tour this year, I would make stops at local animal shelters and promote adopting at their facilities via my social media handles and press. I also like to visit zoos and wildlife reserves.

Give us one country song you never want to hear on radio anymore and tell us why.
~ That’s a hard one! I’d have to say Wagon Wheel. I haven’t heard it on Country Radio in a while, but in my opinion, the song is overplayed as a cover song in Nashville!

What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and…you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ What are you hobbies and interests OUTSIDE of Country Music?
Among other things, I like to: Cook, try new foods at restaurants, travel the world, learning languages, I am a movie buff, I like watching TV, reading books, and ANIMALS (including spreading awareness of and the importsnce of adopting dogs and cats at local animal shelters)!

Describe the ultimate recording studio (not the technique but the facilities)
~ The newest technologies, luxurious interior (couches, furniture, etc). An open-minded Producer and Sound Engineer that would be willing to go with my artistic visions and opinions.

Johnny or June ?
~ Johnny Cash. He was a badass. THE MAN IN BLACK. He overcame a lot of obstacles in life and in his music to become the legend that he is today.

Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any “rituals” to calm you nerves.
~ Yes I always get nervous (“Butterflies” is the American term, haha!). But not in a negative way. Its a nervous EXCITEMENT. If I dont feel some kind of excitement before a gig, no matter how big or small, I’ve lost the passion for it. All artists feel this way. I don’t have a method, per se, but a shot of Jack Daniels or two always helps!

What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ Moving to Nashville. It was the biggest step (other than marrying my wife). I’m originally from Boston, Massachusetts and where I’m from Country Music isn’t as popular of a Genre as it is in the American SouthEast. If I wanted to further my career as a Country Music Singer, I HAD to make the move to Nashville. Otherwise I’d be a Cover Singer in New England. Original music isn’t taken as seriously as it is in Nashville, TN.
