Why country music ?
~ I didn’t know there was anything else. Truthfully for me it is the stories and the connection to life. I have always listened to country. As long as I can remember, it is what I hear when I close my eyes and sing.

If everything would be possible (waking the dead included) , which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ I would love to hear Vince Gill and Jennifer Nettles sing a duet. But if I had any dream duet, it would be me and Jennifer Nettles.

What song you ever recorded means the most to you and why?
~ For me it’s really a toss-up between "Voices" or "More Than Just a Farm to Me" Voices, reminds me of all the people in my life who have helped shape me into the man I am and to be grateful for them. More Than Just a Farm to Me, really does remind my of my 13th year when I got to spend the summer with my grandfather on my mom’s side. He owned a small farm and I learned a lot that year about farm life, hunting, fishing and that song reminds me of grandpa’s farm.

Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ You know, for me it isn’t as much the person who writes the song as much as it is the song itself. I feel tremendously blessed to have found a great writer in Pat Kelley.

Whisky wine beer or water?
~ Coffee or water for me.

If you could turn back time to make only one change, what would you change?
~ Truthfully, I don’t know that I would change much in my life. Not that I haven’t made mistakes but I’ve learned from them and they have shaped me into me. I guess if I had one thing to change I would be better about saving money. I’ve never been good at that.

What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and…you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ When again are you going to be performing on the Grand Ole Opry? LOL- My answer would be as soon as they let me. You know each interview I’ve done so far has been different and I think they’ve asked the questions that were important to them. I’m really happy with what’s happened so far.

Describe the ultimate recording studio (not the technique but the facilities)
~ My dream home includes a recording studio. My dream home is a log home with a cupola on top over-looking the woods. It would serve as the booth for my recording studio. The control room would be directly underneath it. I know sound isolation is important but I like looking out and feeling a part of my surroundings not just a room and I think by being up high overlooking the land I could accomplish both. The booth would be finished with wood trim and have a very warm feel to it with windows all the way around.

Johnny or June ?
~ I think June…. June was the rock for Johnny and his support so to me in essence without June the Johnny we all know really wouldn’t have been as great as he was. I also think she sang for the love of music and the love of performing.

Give us your top 3 country songs ever.
~ Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers did a song, "All the Gold in California", still love that song. I think Toby’s song "American Soldier" would be up there as well, simply as a grew way to say "Thank You" to all those who serve our country. Then a new one from Ronnie Dunn "The Cost of Living" wow… what a story.

What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ You know right now, I’d have to say the most memorable would have to be last weeks launch party. It was awesome to have that many people there just to support me and to be able to share stories and see many old and new friends. To know that so many are behind me was really heart warming.
