About Angie McClain

Why country music ?
~ I love Country music. I am a Alabama girl, raised with Country music. It seems to just fill my soul, touches my heart.

What is the one thing that readers/fans would be surprised to know about you?
~ That I am just a simple girl. That I am a real homebody and also that I have written a fun Southern Cookbook.

What song you ever recorded means the most to you and why?
~ Oh my gosh, they all touch heart in some way, but probably “ With Every Breath”. This was written about how special a child is to your heart, and you love them the way they are, and do not ever want them to change. God made them how he wanted them to be

Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ Well, there are just so many awesome female artists out there, I would have to probably go with LeeAnn Womack or Martina McBride. Such great talent both have.

Whisky wine beer or water?
~ I love, love a good cold beer. Like wine also, not real good with whisky……

If you could turn back time to make only one change, what would you change?
~ If I could turn back time to make a change, what would it be? Probably the change I would make would be to spend a lot more time with my mother. She passed away suddenly a few years ago and if I could turn back time……….I would spend lots of time and days with my mama………after all we only have one mama.

What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and…you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ Maybe how my husband and I met…it really is quite funny. We met in a donut shop. And he stole my heart from the first time I saw him. He owned a feed store and I thought the way to get his attention would be to buy some tick killer and get him to come over and put it on the yard for me…I did just that. Only when he came over – I had supper fixed and love blossomed from there…the tick killer never made it out of the garage. It is amazing what a good pot roast and fixings can do when it comes to trying to win the one you love…haha!

Describe the ultimate recording studio (not the technique but the facilities)
~ Well, I guess I have never probably been in the Ultimate Studio. I am sure there are many though. I think what is most important is the person that you have taking care of you in the one you are recording in. If you have that and someone that knows their stuff, you got it made !!!!

Johnny or June ?
~ Well, probably have to say Johnny. I mean wow, he was awesome and just had a great sense of style and I think that is important. Of course we must remember – he had June who was great also, and she helped to make Johnny the man he was ( right) ?

Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any “rituals” to calm you nerves .
~ Always! I think that is human nature. But after a song or two it get s a little easier. I try to just remember to give your best and that is all you have, and I say a little prayer and take a few deep breaths.

What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ My most memorable would be the day I gave my 82 year little daddy my first CD. He cried and I cried. It had been a long journey to get there and he was a part of it all the way. I could see how proud he was. You know you never get to old for your daddy’s advice and he kept encouraging me to not give up and I will always and forever appreciate that.
