Why country music ?
~ Country music has always been a love of mine!! Through country music your always able to tell a story. When I was younger and doing pop music, I saw myself trying to be something that I’m not. With country, I’m able to be authentic to who I am not only as an artist but as a person.

If everything would be possible (waking the dead included), which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ The ultimate country duet that I could choose from would be Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson, and thankfully that has already happened!

Can you tell us one thing most people like but you really dislike?
~ I would say watching movies. It’s not that I dislike them, it’s just that I have a hard time getting into them and I end up falling asleep.

Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ Miranda Lambert, hands-down!

What is the one thing that readers/fans would be surprised to know about you?
~ I can sing with my mouth closed. It sounds like a five-year-old is trapped inside my body, it’s quite funny.

Give us one country song you never want to hear on radio anymore and tell us why.
~ I can’t really say there’s a song I don’t want to hear on the radio anymore. They’re all so good, plus they’re being played on radio for a reason! Each artist fully shows who they are & there’s a little bit of everything to catch all audiences.

What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and…you wish they would?
~ I feel people don’t ask often if i’m apart of any causes or foundations! I’m apart of this wonderful foundation called SOS 4 Life. It was created to help at-risk youth who are going through different mental adversities. It’s an outlet where people who feel like they don’t have a voice can speak out and have their story be heard!

Describe how a perfect day would look like for you.
~ I have two scenarios that I would consider a perfect day. The first one would simply be a relaxing day. I would wake up early, get a coffee, drive down to the beach, bring my guitar and journal, write songs, and then I’d hang out with friends and have a bonfire. The second scenario would be performing for thousands of people, just doing what I love.

~ Johnny, because of how he influenced country music & how he was changed for the better throughout his career.

Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any “rituals” to calm you nerves.
~ I think every performer is at least a little nervous before they go on stage. I always try to turn my nerves into adrenaline before performing, and I go into a state of meditation where I just zone out by myself for a little bit, just to make sure my head is in the right space.

What was the most memorable day in your musical career and can you tell us why?
~ The most memorable day of my music career was when Kelly Clarkson turned her chair for me on “The Voice”. It was the most liberating feeling! I felt like all my hard work paid off!
