Why country music ?
~ I believe the reason I sing country music is because after growing up as a young girl listening to many different genres of music, country music is the music that makes me feel most like I’m HOME, and home feels good. It’s my favorite place to be! For me, country music feels warm in winter, and cool in summer. It’s everything I need it to be for me to be truly myself! I can sing country music and transcend an extension of my personality.

If everything would be possible (waking the dead included) , which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ I would love to make it possible, wake the dead, and see the ultimate country duet between Elvis Presley and……….ME, of course! But if we’re sticking to the living…well, that’s easy….I’d love to see a duet between me along with the incomparable Vince Gill!

What song you ever recorded means the most to you and why?
~ A song I recorded called “I Won’t Settle For Less Than You” is standing out in my mind as the song that means the most to me because of the lyrics first of all. In this song I sing about all of these incredible emotions and virtues like determination, hope, faith, aggression, humility, and vulnerability, along with confessions of love, fear, and the regretful feeling of perhaps never finding true love. These are very powerful and meaningful attributes that we all face at some or another in our lives and all are evident within the lyrics of this song and I just feel like it’s a very relatable song that connects me with my fans. And on another note, it was also the very first song I received on my very first trip to Nashville, Tennessee also known as “Music City USA” 12 years ago. I literally walked off the plane, walked into a bar in downtown Nashville, went to the bartender and said ‘Can you pour me a drink?…I’m a country singer from out of town’, and he said, “Oh yeah, well I’ve got a song for you……Here you go!” And he handed me a CD with one song on it, this song, and of course the rest is history. After I heard the song, I loved it and I’ve loved it ever since. I told him I was going to cut it one day and I finally did. It’s one of the tracks on my current record.

Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ Gretchen Peters, Leslie Satcher, Matraca Berg, Diane Warren, these are a few of the female songwriters I admire and I would love it immensely if they wrote a song specifically for me, but I would also love to sing something written for me by the legendary songwriter Bobby Braddock, or something gospel-like or inspirational inspired by the incredible Randy Travis.

Whisky wine beer or water?
~ On most days, I prefer water……but I’m a wine gal. Of course champagne is always in order to put a sure smile on my face! Haha!

Who are your heroes?
~ My heroes are singers, some living and some whom have passed on. They’re the ones that have come before me that have paved the way for me, giving me a reason to dream, a reason to strive and reach for the stars, and to thrive in my own singing career. A few to mention are; Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Karen Carpenter, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Celine Dion, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynnette, and Shania Twain.

Describe the ultimate recording studio (not the technique but the facilities)
~ Ooooh….the ultimate recording studio is, dark with very little lighting, maybe just a little lamp, no windows so as to not distract me from outside, plenty of snacks for after singing because I always sing so hard I work up an appetite! An assortment of organic herbal teas with organic honey, lemon and orange slices, along with a microwave to get the tea nice and hot! A bowl with an assortment of mentho-lyptus, honey-coated throat drops. Giant speakers strategically placed with surround sound and big comfy soft headphones. There’s a big lazy chair in the corner to sit on between singing and recording songs. There should be a state of the art microphone with all the bells and whistles, and a temperature control for the room so that I can control the temperature via remote control so the room isn’t too hot or too cold. I really would love it if it was equipped with a comfortable soft massage table in a separate room with a strong masseur or masseuse that doesn’t speak much so I can just effortlessly drift off to a slumber land, and a little refrigerator stocked up with ice cold champagne and imported chocolates to celebrate after each and every song!

Johnny or June ?
~ Johnny!

What do you like to do for fun?
~ For fun I like to cook….I’m quite the chef. I especially love baking at holiday time. The holidays are my favorite time of year because of all the good food and baking I love to do.

What is your most important message to the world?
~ My most important message to the world is; Music is the universal language! Music gives life. Music heals, and music saves souls. It is music that gives us faith, hope and love in one another…..My message is in my songs. The music is in us all, which makes us all connected, as one forever.
