Exclusive Interview with Heather Whitney

Heather Whitney

About Heather Whitney

Why country music ?
~ I was raised on country music so I have a love for it and my voice just fits country music.

If everything would be possible (waking the dead included), which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ Well I think Miranda Lambert and I could kill a song together.

What song (that you’ve recorded) means the most to you and why?
~ “Movin on Song” means a lot to me, it was the first song I wrote and it was the inspiration to my whole album and the start of me moving on.

Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ I would love for Dean Dillon to write a song for me.

What is the one thing that readers/fans would be surprised to know about you?
~ I used to be so nervous when it came to singing I’d forget words, my voice would be pitchy and it was a train wreck.

Give us one country song you never want to hear on radio anymore and tell us why.
~ Well Im just going to have to give this one to Toby Keith with his “chew tobacco, chew tobacco, chew tobacco spit”. I plead the fifth on the second part.

What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and…you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ Nope, I think I’ve been asked every question possible about 45 different ways. Lol

Describe the ultimate recording studio (not the technique but the facilities)
~ CTM recording studio is superb. The people are nice and it’s like a nice studio. 5 Star all the way around.

Johnny or June ?
~ June, I’ve been told I sound and act just like June Carter several times. Despite the affair part I really love how she carries herself! She seemed so sweet but yet fire in her soul to.

Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any “rituals” to calm you nerves.
~ Yes I do get really nervous. I tell myself 100 times. I’ve spent to much money for nerves to be the reason I don’t make it. Over and over and over again. Lol

What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ My album release really takes the cake on this one. It was the first time I stepped on stage as Heather Whitney and played with a real live band. It made me feel on top of the world. I’ll never forget it.
