About Jiggley Jones

  • Interview date: March 2, 2013

  • Country: USA (Coatesville, Pennsylvania)

Why country music ?
~ Country music seems to connect me with the America that I grew up in.

If everything would be possible (waking the dead included) , which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ The 2 people that should sing the ultimate Country duet would be Zac Brown and Taylor Swift. All romance aside, purely vocal.

What song you ever recorded means the most to you and why?
~ I’d have to say "Baby Blue" is the song that means the most to me. It was inspired by the birth of my son 2 years ago. Enough said.

What do you consider the most important change in (country) music during your career and what are your thoughts about it?
~ The most important change in Country music would definitely be the way it has branched out to include other genres such as Americana and what used to be known as Southern Rock. This new "Alt Country" thing has given artist like myself the opportunity to be part of the Nashville scene.

Whisky wine beer or water?
~ Beer first, whiskey once in a while, lol.

If you could turn back time to make only one change, what would you change?
~ The one thing I would change looking back, would be to skip the hiatus that I took from music for a handful of years before this project got off the ground.

What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and…you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ The question I never get asked is "what do you do in your spare time" ? The answer: I am a Civil War buff and like to travel to historic areas, as well as read extensively about the subject.

Describe the ultimate recording studio (not the technique but the facilities)
~ The ultimate recording studio would be far out in the country where fresh air was only an open door away. A separate room with something to take you mind off of things when necessary, like a large screen TV with movies and sports channels. Finally, to be surrounded by people who have the same musical mindset and sense of humor as me.

Johnny or June ?
~ Though I was born in June, lol, I’ll take Johnny. No male red blooded American musician would choose otherwise.

Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any “rituals” to calm you nerves.
~ I get nervous before everything that I do. It’s in my nature. No rituals but, I like to concentrate on having my singing voice properly warmed up and ready to go. Once I feel confident with that I can turn my nervousness into positive energy.

What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ The most memorable day in my musical career hasn’t arrived yet. I’m very goal oriented and until I reach my goal of getting my music out to the masses, everything up to that point is just another day of focus. I have to say that I am very pumped up about working with my new manager, Michael Stover though. So here comes that memorable day, I can feel it !!
