Exclusive Interview with Lathan Moore
Why is the country music genre, your genre of choice to perform?
~ Country music, for the most part, has the ability to "connect" with everyone and anyone in some way.
If everything and anything would be possible (waking the dead included), which two people do you think should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ Ronnie Dunn and Carrie Underwood.
What song (that you've recorded) means the most to you and why?
~ I'd have to say "Love In Your Life." This song just has a great, meaningful message in general and the message relates to everyone.
What song do you wish you had recorded and why?
~ "Believe" by Brooks and Dunn. For one reason, lyrically, it's a smash. When it comes to singing from your soul, that's an area I feel I am the strongest, and that type of song has great message with a whole lot of soul!
Who would you like to collaborate with or what renowned songwriter would you like to write a song especially for you?
~ I think that Brad Paisley is a great writer; he and I have a lot of the same ideas and structure in songs.
Who is your personal favorite recording artist and why?
~ Kenny Hinson. I think he has the greatest voice there ever was. A lot of people (who have heard him) think that as well. He didn't get his nickname "The Singer" because he was just "average."
Whiskey, wine beer, water or...
~ I love a good beer...Franziskaner. It is a German beer. I also Love a fine wine...but with wine, it just depends on the atmosphere, the mood and even the kind of food I eat. A good Merlot would probably be my choice..for store-bought wine. "Peach"--if it is homemade.
~ The famous Studio B at the Country Music Hall Of Fame in Nashville.
Describe the ultimate performance/stage and why you would like to perform there.
~ The Grand Ole Opry. It's every country performer's dream and because that's an accomplishment that I have set for myself achieve.
What are your top favorite 3 songs of all time (any genre)?
~ "Call Me Gone" • "Believe" • "Amazing Grace"
What song or recording artists, as a teenager, do you hate to admit (now) that you actually liked?
~ N' sync...(shshsh)
Looking back at high school, what is the one thing you would change or like to forget?
~ That I was a butterball who played the tuba!
Do you have an "ick" food?(What is it and why?)
~ I like just about everything.
What is the one thing that readers/fans would be surprised to know about you?
~ That I can recreate and make Native American Artifacts, just as they did.
