Exclusive Interview with Madelyn Victoria
Why country music ?
~ I've listened to country music my whole life. I love so many kinds of music, but I'm just drawn to the different stories in country music, and the sound of a fiddle and steel guitar. For me, it just feels like home.
If everything would be possible (waking the dead included) , which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ Chris Stapleton and Marvin Gaye... two of my favorite voices EVER.
What song you ever recorded means the most to you and why?
~ There are actually a couple that mean so much to me that I haven't been able to record yet. but my latest single "He Only Loves Me on the Dance Floor" means a lot because it relates to so many people everywhere. All my friends and new fans always share how that song is "their song" and for them to feel that way about something I wrote is why I do what I do. I can't wait to get more out there.
Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ There are so many songwriters I can think of! I have to say though that Evan Felker of the Turnpike Troubadours would be my number one pick. That man is so talented and would love for him to write a song for me to sing.
Whisky wine beer or ...?
~ Tequila!! Chilled Patron to be exact.
Give us one country song you never want to hear on radio anymore and tell us why.
~ Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I will keep that one to myself ;)
What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and...you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ So far everyone has been covering some awesome questions, but no one has asked me if I have a boyfriend! Haha. I do not have one because I am really focused on my career and goals... but if you must know the real reason I don't have one is because I am waiting for actor Henry Cavill, our wedding is going to be awesome, haha.
Describe the ultimate recording studio (not the technique but the facilities)
~ A recording studio on a beach would be so sweet... with big glass windows so I can see out to the ocean, and when I need a break go out on the water and get my fish on.
Johnny or June ?
~ Definitely Johnny. I have been drawn to learn about his life and music for as long as I can remember. He actually reminds me of my grandfather. Something about the truth and struggles of this man inspire me to be the best I can be. We share a similar faith and listening to his gospel albums and bible scriptures that he quotes in his recordings means a whole lot to me.
Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any "rituals" to calm you nerves.
~ I wouldn't really consider it being nervous, but more like anxious. I get so anxious to get out on the stage I start to act funny and don't really like to talk much, I'm going over in my mind what exactly I'm going to say and how I'm going to perform. I like to listen to my favorite songs, a lot of George Strait, before I go on stage as well. gets me pumped and yet also relaxes me.
What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ There are actually two most memorable days, so far, in my musical career- The first time I heard myself on the radio, and the first time I opened up for a big Country act. Those two days made me feel like all the struggles and hard times are worth it, and that this is just the beginning of more struggles and bigger accomplishments. If I ever am down or just not having a good day I can think about those moments and just keep on keeping on.
