Exclusive Interview with Boone
~ Country music is all I’ve ever known. I love all genres, but I was raised on Country music. It’s been the soundtrack to my entire life.
If everything would be possible (waking the dead included) , which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ That’s a tough one. I would have to pick Merle Haggard and Allison Krauss.
What song you ever recorded means the most to you and why?
~ The song I’ve written and recorded that means the most to me is called “Better Life”. When I was in high school, I lost a real good buddy in a car accident before we graduated. Four days later, I lost my Uncle Jimmy. I wrote that song in the midst of the chaos around me. Now that song has played in funerals all over as a request from those who were passing and wanted that song to be played at their funeral. It’s an absolute honor to have someone request that song to be played in a time like that, that’s why I wrote it.
Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ Vince Gill.
Whisky wine beer or water?
~ Straight black coffee.
What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and…you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ No one ever asks why I write songs. That would be a cool question. You know when you have something you really want to tell someone, but no matter how bad you want to, you can’t get it out? Or you’re hurt or on the edge of giving up and and no one understands? Music understands and that’s why I write it.
Describe the ultimate recording studio (not the technique but the facilities)
~ A quiet log cabin in the mountains of Colorado.
Johnny or June ?
~ Johnny Cash all day. His records and stories have inspired me more than anyone in Country music.
Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any “rituals” to calm you nerves.
~ I don’t get nervous anymore, I just get adrenaline (I’m an adrenaline addict, so it’s perfect). My ritual changes, but I do love working out and drinking coffee before going on stage.
What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ My most memorable day in music was when Lorianne Crook introduced me on stage to seal our deal in Nashville. That was quite an honor.
