Why country music ?
~ Why not? Real stories, real life and lyrics you can relate to.
If everything would be possible (waking the dead included), which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ Garth Brooks and ME
What song you ever recorded means the most to you and why?
~ “Slow Down” This was written by me at a time when I stood at a crossroads between music and my day job. I was taking a look at myself and where I had been; the highs, the lows and in betweens. I knew it was time to figure this thing out called life.
Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ Taylor Swift. She is an amazing song writer. Her lyrics and melodies put you right there with her, as if you were in the room with her when she wrote them.
What is the one thing that readers/fans would be surprised to know about you?
~ I have a daughter that was born 4 months early and only weighed 1.5 pounds at birth. She is now 11 years old. We almost lost her a few times and she had a very rough beginning, but she is doing great now! She is our miracle girl.
Give us one country song you never want to hear on radio anymore and tell us why.
~ I don’t have an answer for this. If it’s a country song…let it be heard! =)
What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and…you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ “What I your favorite color?” Blue…of course.
Describe the ultimate recording studio (not the technique but the facilities)
~ Feels like home. Has places to get away in the quiet to rest and recoup. It has people there that inspire, motivate, relate, and have fun.
Johnny or June ?
~ Johnny. A lot of that music is before my time and I was not exposed to it much as a child. Johnny Cash is just more familiar to me than June.
Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any “rituals” to calm you nerves.
~ There is always a little bit of nerves here and there but for the most part, no. I am usually nervous at new venues and in new areas when we play for the first time. I get worried that they won’t like our music or song selection.
What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ Wow. I would have to say it was recording our debut EP in Nashville this year (2016). Taking the band down there and putting our sounds on an album for our friends and family to hear was absolutely amazing and gratifying. The guys in the band are like brothers to each other. We bonded even further spending creative time with one another. We went out on Broadway to listen to all of the Nashville bands and even got up to play a few songs. Anytime spent in Nashville is great for the country music soul!
