Why country music ?
~ I love country music. It’s all about the song, and I love telling stories and singing great songs. Country music at its core is genuine and real, and that’s how I try to live my life. I love all kinds of music, but country music is my favorite.

If everything would be possible (waking the dead included) , which two people should sing the ultimate country duet?
~ Great questions. Don’t know that I could name just one pairing. I think Garth and Trisha are amazing when they sing together. Of course, Loretta and Conway were awesome, as were George and Tammy. Dolly Parton sounds great with everyone – maybe one day I’ll be lucky enough to sing with her. Brad Paisley and Allison Krauss are great. Keith and Carrie. It’s really hard to try and pick just one pairing.

What song you ever recorded means the most to you and why?
~ My most recent song, “Five More Minutes” from my upcoming album SEASONS CHANGE which will be in stores March 16, is my favorite song I’ve recorded and written. It’s also my first No. 1 song. It was inspired by the passing of my grandfather, and I feel him with me everytime I sing it.

Who would you like to write a song for you?
~ I love great songwriting, so there are so many wonderful writers who have songs I’d like to sing.

What is the one thing that readers/fans would be surprised to know about you?
~ My life is an open book, and has been since I got started, so I don’t know that anyone would be surprised about much. But I don’t think everyone knows that I’m 25% Puerto Rican – my paternal grandmother is a native Puerto Rican who met my grandfather when he was stationed down there in the armed forces. My father was actually born in Puerto Rico.

What is the question interviewers never seem to ask you and…you wish they would? (Please provide your answer as well.)
~ Honestly, I’m asked just about everything I could imagine. I’m not sure there’s anything I haven’t been asked. LOL.

Johnny or June ?
~ I’m a huge Johnny Cash fan. That voice, those songs, that personality. But you can’t really thinkg about Johnny Cash without thinking about June. They had a legendary love story, and that inspires me as a man who’s getting married later this year.

Are you still nervous before going on stage and if so, do you use any “rituals” to calm you nerves.
~ I’m always a little bit nervous, but the audience is so welcoming that it goes away pretty quickly.

What was the most memorable day in your musical career and tell us why.
~ Well, I just had my first No. 1 with a song inspired by my grandfather. That was pretty awesome. I’m still celebrating!!
